Ron Filipkowski, an attorney and former Republican, posted portions of a video interview between Trump and One News American on Twitter.
He then explained how this NFT Collection came together.
“Well, I knew nothing about them, and then a group [NFT INT LLC] came, and I loved the art. So they showed me the art,” Trump said. “You know, it’s sort of comic book art when you think of it, but they showed me the art, and I said, gee, I always wanted to have a 30-inch waist.”
“I’m looking at this stuff, and I’m saying, ‘Wow, that’s sorta cute, that might sell, that might sell.’ They thought it would sell in six months; it sold in six hours.”
Ultimately, Trump commented that he “loved the art .. it’s sort of comic book art .. I heard somebody said it was the investment of the year. I didn’t view it as investment. I thought they were cute. These visions are very beautiful & interesting.”
In a twist or irony, Twitter user Valuemancer alleges that the artist behind Trump’s “beautiful & interesting” collection is the same behind actor Sylvester Stallone’s defunct NFT project. The specifics behind Stallone’s quiet project are unknown, but if found faithful, place Trump’s collection into a messy, cash-grab-like situation.
Providing a breakdown of his detailed research on his December 19 Twitter feed (which can be found here), Valuemancer explains the status of Stallone’s unlaunced yet mysterious project.
“So, what ever happened to Sylvester’s project?
Well, it never launched. Check out their twitter page at @PlanetSlyNFT and you can see they were very successful in farming engagement and preparing for what would have almost certainly been an easy pay day.
Instead, they went radio silent, the discord invites broke, and the website was shoved behind a password. Presumably still in tact, and perhaps still wanting to launch.
Fans seemed excited, but I guess Sly and the gang had other plans. Grift Bxng didn’t work out. They abandoned Stallone’s project without any explanation.”
What happens next in this saga is anyone’s guess.
