Warner Bros’ Game Of Thrones NFTs Are Actually Pretty Terrible

Game of Thrones NFTs was launched by Warner Bros.’ blockchain division on Tuesday, rumored to be a digital card game based on the Game of Thrones franchise.

In each Hero Box, purchasers found three story cards, nine resource cards, and one “hero” card. Each Hero Box sold for $150 (0.11 ether).

The Hero Boxes sold in the Build Your Realm project will be the first of several collections.

According to Daz 3D, the “Build Your Realm” project “is a first-of-its-kind collectible experience that connects fans with their favorite franchise in ways they never have before. The program will give fans the opportunity to build their realm through themed community activities, upgradeable avatars, and digital collectibles including iconic moments, locations, characters, and more from the groundbreaking TV series.”

The NFT marketplace Nifty’s, which partnered with Warner Bros. for the drop, states that the resource cards will later be used to create equipable weapons and armor.

Unfortunately, some buyers were disappointed when GOT fans saw the artwork in their Hero Box. Many believe some artwork was taken directly from Shutterstock, a stock photography image provider.

Nearly $750,000 was earned despite a lackluster reception to the collection.

A request for comment was not immediately answered by Nifty’s and Daz 3D, producers behind the NFT’s art direction and creation.
