New York’s Tribeca Film Festival is using non-fungible tokens (NFTs) to offer VIP passes as digital collectibles.

The festival, which takes place in June, developed the NFTs in partnership with crypto exchange OKX.

The digital collectibles are minted on Ethereum and will offer perks such as special access to film screenings and exclusive events with the festival’s co-founders.

The NFTs cost $899 and can be purchased through the Tribeca website using a credit card or in ether through the OKX NFT marketplace.

The VIP passes are part of a broader partnership with OKX, which signed as the festival’s top sponsor last year.

About The Festival

The Tribeca Film Festival, founded by Robert De Niro, Jane Rosenthal and Craig Hatkoff in 2002, is an annual event held in New York City that showcases a diverse selection of independent films from around the world. The festival aims to promote the work of emerging and established filmmakers, as well as to provide a platform for innovative and engaging storytelling. In addition to film screenings, the festival also features panel discussions, Q&A sessions with filmmakers, and other special events. The festival is also known for its unique approach to film viewing and distribution, using technology and social media to engage audiences and connect filmmakers with new audiences.
